My name is Luisa Palmeira and I am 10 years old. I was born in France, but my family they are all Portuguese.

In Menina, you follow the story of my family through my child’s eyes. Like many Portuguese, my family arrived in France in the sixties.

Today, I am very happy to show you some images from the film and to explain why we need you so much !

Post-production

Today the film is still in editing.

Just like we were saying in the video, Menina needs you to finance the post-production.

But what is post-production ?

The team

Of course, Menina is not embodied only by Luisa, but also by a big team of crazy people all devoted to the film.

First of all, Menina is about Cristina Pinheiro, the director. Menina is her story, a French woman born from Portuguese parents. She is fascinated by the cultural heritage that immigrant parents hand down to their children and their aptitude to fix new roots. Menina is an invitation to discover them!

Clearly, Menina also exists thanks to a producer : Mathieu Bompoint. Mathieu fights in order to breath life into beautiful stories from genuine French filmakers. Mathieu is a committed producer to independant French Cinema.

Of course, Menina is equally a project gathering a wonderful team of passionate professionals !  

Menina is mainly French and Portuguese actors bound by their common History.

Menina is Naomi, the little heroine of the film. Her maturity and her energy make her the ideal actress for this role full of life and paradox.

Menina is the marvellous Beatriz Batarda, performing Luisa’s mother. With a 23 year-old carrier and 4 Golden Globes in Portugal, Beatriz is an exceptional actress, with undeniable talent and overflowing generosity.

Menina is also Nuno Lopes, acting as Luisa’s father. With a carrier combining Theater, Cinema, Television and numerous international awards, Nuno is a beautiful actor and a humble star. 

The funds collected thanks to your help during this crowdfunding campaign will be used to support the diversity of French Cinema. More precisely, we will be able to finish the film Menina by financing the post-production phase, which is essential for its release.
